Lucinda Brown

Lucinda has been a contentious trusts and probate specialist for over 20 years and is a Partner at Mills & Reeve, based between their Cambridge and London offices.  She has been a full member of ACTAPS since 2009 and deals with the full spectrum of claims in this area.  She has been ranked as a Leading Partner in Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners for several years.  Lucinda is Co-Chair of ACTAPS, together with Josh Lewison, and has overall responsibility for ensuring the continuity and success of ACTAPS. Lucinda’s interests outside of work are her young family, theatre and the arts.  She is also a professional trustee for several charities in her local area.

Josh is one of the Co-Chairs of ACTAPS. He is a barrister at Radcliffe Chambers, where he specialises in contentious trusts and probate. He is also admitted in California.

Tom is a KC at Radcliffe Chambers in Lincoln’s Inn. He has been specialising in both contentious and advisory trust and estates work for more than 40 years. He’s been one of the Legal 500’s Hot 100 and STEP Advocate of the Year. He has been an ACTAPS member pretty much since it started and has been on the committee, as treasurer, for 10 years. He loves cricket, both playing and watching. He is fond of poetry, but mad about animals, and is a Fellow of the Zoological Society of London.

Anthony is a partner with Baker McKenzie's Dispute Resolution team and chair of the market-leading Trusts Disputes group in London. Anthony specialises in advising clients engaged in disputes related to private wealth, succession, trusts and private banking. In such disputes, he acts for trustees, executors, protectors, beneficiaries and interested third parties and is very familiar with all the major offshore jurisdictions.

Fiona Lawrence

Fiona is a partner at VWV and a specialist in her field, with over 17 years' experience dealing with a broad range of inheritance and Will disputes, trust disputes and contested Court of Protection matters. Fiona frequently acts as a Court appointed Independent Administrator in contested estates. Fiona is ranked in Band 1 in Chambers' HNW Guide 2024, and recognised as a Leading Partner in the South West for Contentious trusts and probate in Legal 500 2024. Outside work, Fiona enjoys spending time with her family and teenage boys, cycling and open water swimming. Fiona is currently training to run as part of a relay team from London to Paris.

Tony is head of the Disputed Wills & Estates team at Michelmores LLP.  The Legal 500 tier1 team are based in London, Cheltenham, Bristol and Exeter. Tony works with private individuals and also acts for a number of leading national charities advising on a wide range of private client litigation matters.  He acts in matters where there is a dispute in relation to a Will or a Trust and also acts in contentious Court of Protection matters.  Tony is also an experienced mediator having been mediating disputes for over 15 years.

Jessica is a partner at Payne Hicks Beach LLP in London. She has extensive trust and estate litigation experience both in England and offshore. She has particular expertise in advising trustees and beneficiaries on issues of trust law in the context of divorce proceedings. Jessica lives in London with her husband and two young sons but returns to her home county of Lincolnshire whenever she can.

Emily is a partner and co-founder of Roskilly & Mills LLP in Bristol. She acts for clients across the UK and specialises in advising on will and trust disputes and advises unmarried couples on separation. Emily lives in Bristol, has two daughters, and likes to return home back to her roots in Cornwall whenever she can.

Lynsey Harrison

Lynsey is the partner head of Clarion’s contentious private client team. She specialises in disputed estates and trusts and deals with a wide range of matters concerning individuals’ estates both before and after their death. She is also highly regarded for specialising in the complex area of mental capacity disputes and leads the Court of Protection team at Clarion that provides advice on a wide range of matters including the administration of professional deputyship cases, advice on complex court applications and the creation and administration of personal injury trusts. Outside of work Lynsey enjoys spending time socialising with her family and friends often over a few pints, listening to live music.

Louise is a Barrister and Mediator at No5 Chambers specialising in contested estates and trusts work. She is also the Chair of the Midland Chancery and Commercial Bar Association and the Midlands Representative for the Chancery Bar Association. As a mum of two daughters she is passionate about creating and supporting a culture where part time work at the Bar is possible, and is actively involved in initiatives to promote the retention of those who are underrepresented at senior levels at the Bar.

Christian is a CEDR-accredited mediator and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. In his spare time Christian enjoys sailing, skiing, motorcycles and walking the dog.

Graeme heads the Firm's Private Wealth Disputes team. He advises trustees, executors and beneficiaries in relation to a broad range of disputes. Graeme is recognised in the legal directories as a leader in contentious trust and estates matters. He practises in both domestic and international trust and succession disputes. He regularly works alongside his colleagues in the family and private client teams on complex multi-jurisdictional issues.

Constance specialises in trusts and probate disputes. She has appeared in a number of highly publicised cases, including Reeves v Drew (a probate dispute about the £100m estate of an illiterate testator). She has appeared twice in the UK Supreme Court: as Junior Counsel in the landmark case of Ilott v The Blue Cross and recently in Hirachand v Hirachand, concerning whether a CFA success fee can be recoverable as part of an award under the 1975 Act. Constance also has an international practice.
